Green Schools Civic Education Project

Through classroom activities and field trips, young people learn about the benefits of ‘green schools’ and create artistic renditions based on their learning. Public presentations are made by the students. This is an ALLY partnership with Earth Day Network, Cincinnati Park Board, Cincinnati Public School teachers and Woman’s City Club.

In May, 2006, over thirty Cincinnati Public School students presented their artistic renditions of a green school through architectural models, art pieces crafted from recycled materials and a reduce, re-use, recycle song for the CPS Board of Education meeting. In that same month, CPS adopted guidelines to follow sustainable, green school design and operation guidelines.
